TV Expert Registration: £100 Yearly Membership + £50 Joining Fee
A FEW HELPFUL TIPS …
To complete this registration form you'll need:
a jpeg photo (please note that profile pages will not 'go live' until a photo has been properly uploaded)
a short & succinct 'expertise' that sums up what do you: 50 characters incl spaces. This appears under your photo in the search pages. Commercial & Company references aren't allowed. Please include spaces or commas between words. Don't use '/'.
a mini biog (500 characters incl spaces). Avoid including website addresses in your 'About Me' as they double your character count without you being aware of it.
your CV
a short description of any personal or professional projects you're involved with - or would like to be involved with - that could be of interest to TV & the Media (500 characters incl spaces).
2 references who are happy to be on the site
Paint the picture. Researchers, producers etc need to understand what you do - so keep your 'About me' simple. They also need to visualise how you do it - and how you could do it on TV. So use examples. Be descriptive. Paint the picture.
Broaden your appeal. Think of the '5 things you’d never guess about me from looking at my photo’ as a way of broadening your appeal to the industry. Is there anything you've done, are doing or are passionate about that could be used in a TV programme?
Why You? If you've decided to promote yourself to the industry you need to know the answer to these questions: why would you be great on TV? Why would you be better than the other experts like you on TV? What can you bring to a programme that other experts like you can't?
If you tick 'yes' to TV experience, please include your TV work in your Employment History. Your biog, profile & CV pages are desiged to promote your expertise and inspire the TV & Media companies - so keep them up-to-date with your ideas, projects, jobs, key wordsearch options, etc. NB Search results are displayed in order of 'most recent log in' so if you want to move up the search result pages, make sure you log into your account on a regular basis.
Once you have submitted your profile details they will be saved - and you can always go back in and tweak/change them later. NB. Don't click away from your registration form before you've completed and submitted it. If you do, you'll lose everything you wrote.
All publicity is good publicity. If a TV or media company contacts you, return their call or email as soon as possible as they work to very tight deadlines. Not responding reflects badly on you – and on findaTVexpert.com.
Don’t take it personally if you don’t hear back from a TV or media company after an initial phone call or screentest. That’s just the way it is.
Everyone loves a success story. If you get contacted to appear on TV, be on the radio or appear in print, please let us know so we can promote you further.
