About Me

I’m a practising Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon with a keen interest in history, archaeology, diving and battlefield surgery both past and present. I served in the 2003 Gulf War as Surgeon Commander with 34 Field Hospital in Basra (the closest to the front line since the Battle of the Somme) and was a member of the SES diving team that discovered a lost sunken city in the Indian Ocean in 2002. I currently offer contract surgical services to NHS trusts and a medicolegal service. TV appearances are numerous and include National Geographic’s Perfect Weapon and the History Channel’s Mummy Forensics. See CV for the full list.
